Measurements 4

19. Arm Length: The length of the arm from shoulderpoint to wrist bone. Measure alongthe outside of the arm, with arm relaxed. Arm lengths are used inapparel for making sleeve lengths, and sleeve lengths are measured 3 different ways. They are: 1- fromthe shoulder point,as described above, 2- from the H.P.S. and 3-from C.B. Neck. Which way a sleeve length is measured actually varies from company to company, and manufacturers that measure their sleeves from the shoulder, will also measure their arms from the shoulder, and that goes for sleeve lengths from HPS and CB neck. Therefore, to keep everyone happy, in this handbook, we measure all 3 ways in the Standard  Body Measurements section. But, generally, you will find most companies refer to an arm length as an armlength and expect a measurement from the shoulder point and that is the one we will always refer to first and foremost. (Sketch 2.11- length from shoulder, Sketch 2.12- length from HPS and Sketch 2.13-length from CB neck.)
