• Sustainability Certificate Workshop will be held in person at the California Market Center  option virtual if you prefer, and will shift to a virtual workshop, if needed.

• All workshop attendees will receive a digital certificate of completion at end of workshop.

• Space is limited, please register early.

• Workshop fee is non-refundable. 

• Proof of vaccination required for in person entry.

Kathleen is a Program Manager at Flexport.org, the social and environmental impact team of Flexport. Building on Flexport's cloud technology and logistics infrastructure, Flexport.org offers programs for companies, NGOs, and donor organizations that include carbon neutrality, discounted shipping and pro bono counseling.

Prior to Flexport, Kathleen worked at Nonprofit Finance Fund, a social-sector lender, consultant, and thought leader removing obstacles between nonprofits and their missions. She holds a Bachelor of Sustainability from Arizona State University's School of Sustainability, and is on the Leadership Council for Compass Family Services in San Francisco CA, a nonprofit organization helping families escape homelessness.

Fashion Strategist, Michelle Alleyne earned a B.S. at Howard University in Fashion Merchandising & Business Management, studied Apparel Production Management at FIT, and earned an M.S. from Parsons School of Design in Strategic Design and Management in 2015; further sharpening her skills to create solutions to fashion problems innovatively, ethically, and sustainably.

She founded M SHOP, a hip brick-and-mortar downtown NYC boutique supporting fierce emerging designers, which dressed countless A-Listers. This gave her the opportunity to design her own M SHOP label, and special organic t’s to raise proceeds for her favorite charities. In ’04 the boutique morphed into the Full-Service Fashion Firm it is today, providing Workshops, Consulting, + Products to assist fashion entrepreneurs with EVERYTHING to LAUNCH their businesses from concept, product development, marketing, promotions, sourcing, manufacturing, to sales. And ELEVATE existing brands to the next level.

Michelle’s been a Professor at leading fashion universities, Parsons School of Design, FIT, and LIM College, as well as Instructor at The School of The NY Times. She's Contributing Editor at Fashion Mannuscript magazine. She’s author of the booklet, “How To Manufacture/Produce Your Designs”, and created the sustainable resource directory, SustainableFashionPages.com. She's a Fashion Authority who mentors The New School’s Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative, The National Society of Leadership and Success, and is constantly invited to judge fashion designers, and lecture worldwide on Starting & Building A Fashion Company, Trend Forecasting, & Marketing.

In addition Michelle’s spent numerous years working in the NYC Garment Center; Managing Production & Manufacturing (off-shore and domestic), as Product Developer, Merchandiser, Buyer, Trim Buyer, and Import/Export Manager for major fashion brands like Macy's, Ann Taylor, and Halston to name a small few; affording her immeasurable industry knowledge from personal hands on experience. She's a Futurist, Trend Leader & Forecaster, & has even styled editorials, Millicent Shelton directed music videos, and Spike Lee directed TV commercials.

Andrea Kennedy is a sustainable fashion educator, strategist, designer, and consultant. She founded Fashiondex.com and is Associate Chair of Fashion Merchandising and Sustainability and Fashion professor at LIM College, as well is Co-Chair of LIM's College's Sustainability Task Force. Andrea is sustainability lead at Fashiondex.com, a member and mentor at the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, Transparency Strategic Council member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, and mentor at the U.N. SDSN network. She has designed and merchandised for major fashion labels including Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor, Bob Mackie, Pierre Cardin, Sunny Leigh and Groovy on Grand. She is the author of sustainability articles and sourcebooks including The Fashion Designer's Sustainable Sourcebook, The Apparel Design and Production Handbook- A Technical Reference, and Apparel Costing. She holds a BA in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design, an M.Ed in Education for Sustainability from Manhattanville College, and is a Zankel Fellow for climate change education at Columbia University's Teachers College.

As the Vice President of Client Services at Higg, Adele Stafford oversees the team responsible for customer excellence including Customer Success and Account Management.

Adele brings twenty years of experience working at the nexus of design, technology and strategy to Higg. Most recently, Adele was the VP of Accounts for Blue State, a digital marketing and communications agency who partners with leading causes, companies and campaigns. Her client roster included Google, Monterey Bay Aquarium (Seafood Watch), UCSF, and Participant Media.

At Frog Design, Adele was a Director of Client Services, overseeing account growth and business strategy for key clients including Procter & Gamble, Hewlett Packard and General Electric. She also spent time working in a marketing strategy role for organizations like the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Adele is a practicing studio artist and hand weaver whose work is deeply rooted in sustainable fiber agriculture. Over the past six years, this work has culminated in a project called Voices of Industry, a survey of the cultural and agricultural context that informs our domestic textile supply chain.

Adele is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelor of Fine Art and Simmons College with a Master of Business Administration.
